Inspiring all children to create & achieve

Jobs and Responsibilities

At Earls Colne Primary School we are given many different responsibilities and can volunteer to carry out a number of different jobs.

Most of these are carried out by children in Years 5 and 6 but all of us are expected to look after all of our equipment, resources and the areas we work and play in.

In all of our classrooms we are given jobs by our teachers to make sure that everywhere is neat and tidy.

Every week children in Years 5 and 6:

  • Organise and keep score for the weekly sports challenge that children take part in during lunchtime
  • Prepare the hall for assembly
  • Serve the food on the Key Stage 2 Tuck Trolley
  • Help put away the chairs in the hall after lunch

Some children have volunteered to be Earls Colne Prefects. We help the MDAs during lunchtime and are in the hall so that we can help the younger children who may not be able to cut up their food or open things in their packed lunches.

We enjoy having these responsibilities as it makes us feel adult-like and that we are valued by the school.
