English - The Lighthouse

 

This week's English will be based around a film clip called 'The Lighthouse.'

 

Today, we would like you to watch the clip through a couple of times so that you become familiar with it.

We would then like you to discuss the following questions with someone at home. 

 

Who is the lighthouse keeper?

How would you describe his character?

Where is the film set?

Why does the lighthouse keeper slam the window shut?

What does the lighthouse keeper think about the other people outside having fun?

When the lighthouse keeper broke the lamp, what other possible outcomes could there be?

How does he feel at the end?

We will then learn how to write a dialogue between two of the characters.

Over the next two days, we will plan and then write a diary entry from the perspective of the lighthouse keeper.
