This week we are planning and writing our own wishing tale.
Lesson 1 =Identify features of a poem.
A) read through the poem to fluency level.
B) Highlight and label the key features of the poem.
SUCCESS CRITERIA -Repetition -Rhyme couplets -Verses -Alliteration -onomatopoeia -Number of syllables for each line.
Lesson 2 = To perform poetry
A) Watch the examples of poetry being performed below. List down what makes them effective. Then check them against the success criteria.
B) Now practise performing 'Gran can you rap' and perform to someone in the house. Think about the performances you have watched already.
Lesson 3 - Today you are going to write the third and the fourth paragraph of your new story.
A) Read out first verse of poem.
B) Look at the new poem below where we have changed the person that is rapping (Gran to Dad or Bob or Pa)
Use the planning sheet to complete the next steps. (If you get stuck then have a look at our example of the plan below).
C) Now think about who you are going to change the person to. Making sure it is only one syllable.
D) Now create a bank of words that rhyme which will help you write your poem. NOUNS ONLY e.g cat mat bat
E) Now create a word bank on alliteration/onomatopoeia words e.g zip zap whip whap
F) Complete the rest of the planning sheet.
Lesson 4 = Use your plan from yesterday and write the first 2 verses of the poem.

Lesson 5 = Making a book and top copying your story into the book. I have provided instructions on how to make the book. If you have not got A3 paper, you can always top copy onto A4 paper and then decorate.
